EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
Our students took part in various competitions and won many
prizes. our school teachers played the role of subject experts
in the guidance programme for X and XII standard, ”Jaithukkattuvom”
organized by Dinamalar in Chennai, Tambaram, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur
and Chengelpet. Iam very proud to say that it had received whole
hearted recognition from the parents and the public throughout
Tamilnadu. We are thankful to the editor of Dinamalar for it.
Kuruvilla Jacob centenary committee has organized a project
“Bringing Excellence in school”. our school has
been selected for this. Sri R.Thirumalai, Dr.P.Balasubramaniam,
Sri R.Sriraman, and Sri R.Ramesh, are being given training for
this and have been selected as project leaders for this school.
Besides our teachers are enriching and enhancing their knowledge
by attending seminars, workshops and inservice training. The
school conducted science exhibition. Independence day and Republic
day were celebrated. The school conducted programs such as Aids
Awareness, Tree Planting ,Say No to Plastics’ etc.
150 students wrote the examination on ‘Gandhiji’s
Autobiography’ conducted by Gandhi Study Centre, Chennai.
N.Abubucker X ”A”, B. Mohan X ”C” and
R.Vasudevan X ”D” won the second prize in the District
Level Quiz Competition. N.S.S:
This year we have enrolled 25 boys from XII std and 25 from
XI std under the leadership of Sri.K.S.Natarajan, Programme
Officer. Boys did their services in the Royapettah Govt. General
Hospital for about one month during the morning hours. N.S.S
volunteers attended the following Programmes on various days.
They went for rally for Drug Abuse, World Population Day, Rajiv
Gandhi Birthday Celebration, World Heart Day, Flag Day, Polio
Eradication Day and world Aids Day. 25 boys attended the annual
special camp conducted by our school at Madambakkam village
near Tambaram under the leadership of Sri.K.S.Natarajan N.S.S.
P.O. from 27th December 2004 to 5th January 2005. Mr.K.Shankargiri
scout master assisted the Programme. Mr.R.Parthasarathy, BT
assistant and N.Krishnamurthy, clerk of our school helped very
much for conducting the camp in a successful manner. Boys did
cleaning in villages as well as in Thenupureeswaran temple on
all days . SRI RAMA SCOUT GROUP:
Sri.K.Sankargiri, Drawing Master is incharge of scout activities.
50 students have been enrolled. The scout boys took part in
regulation of the Crowds in Festivals, Rainwater Harvesting
Schemes & Cleaning campuses. Classes for scouts are held
in the school every Sunday. Training camp was held at Avadi
and Karapakkam, Adyar. Our scouts attended citizenship training
camp at Gokhale Hall also. JUNIOR RED CROSS:
Sri C.N.Gunasekar, Drawing Master, is incharge of this group,
75 students have been enrolled in this group. They participated
in RWH Rally, regulation of the crowds in festivals and cleaning
campaigns in the school. The teacher incharge attended training
programme given by JRC Chennai and Geneva convention in august’04.
